Description

Our client is an established investment manager with £5bn AUM across a number of different strategies. The structured credit team has been actively lending across the UK for over 10 years and can provide senior, stretch senior, mezzanine and investment finance loans up to £200m.

They are currently looking to enhance their origination team with the hire of a Senior Director, with an established track record of sourcing and closing investment finance transactions across the UK.

The Commercial Real Estate Debt Investment Finance Originator will be responsible for sourcing, structuring, and executing commercial real estate lending opportunities across a range of property sectors. The role focuses on developing relationships with borrowers, sponsors, intermediaries, and advisors to originate high-quality debt investments that meet the firm's risk-adjusted return objectives. Working closely with investment, underwriting, legal, portfolio management, and capital markets teams, the originator manages transactions from initial opportunity through execution and handover to the loan asset management team.

Business Development & Origination

1. Source new commercial real estate lending opportunities across target markets.
2. Develop and maintain relationships with:
3. Property investors and developers
4. Private equity real estate sponsors
5. Investment managers
6. Debt advisors and brokers
7. Corporate finance advisers
8. Generate a consistent pipeline of senior, whole loan and mezzanine opportunities.
9. Represent the business at industry conferences, networking events and client meetings.

Transaction Management

1. Evaluate new lending opportunities against investment strategy and risk appetite.
2. Structure financing solutions tailored to borrower requirements while protecting investor capital.
3. Lead negotiations on commercial terms, pricing, covenants and security packages.
4. Manage transactions through to financial close.

Required Experience

1. 10 - 15+ years' experience in commercial real estate debt finance, lending, private credit or structured finance.
2. Proven track record originating commercial real estate debt transactions.
3. Strong network within the UK and/or European commercial real estate market.
4. Experience across multiple asset classes including office, industrial & logistics, residential, retail, hospitality and alternatives.
5. Demonstrable experience executing transactions from origination through completion.
