Job Summary
WKAR, the PBS and NPR affiliate within the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University, seeks a visionary Senior Director of Content & Education to provide strategic and operational leadership for the organization's content portfolio. Reporting to the General Manager and serving as a member of WKAR's senior leadership team, this position oversees television and video production, radio and digital news, classical music programming, educational initiatives, and multiplatform content development.
The Senior Director establishes content vision and editorial priorities, leads long-term content planning, develops strategic partnerships, and aligns people, resources, budgets, and workflows to advance WKAR's mission and impact.

Requirements
Education/Experience
Knowledge equivalent to a four-year degree in communication or media production related field
Five to eight years of experience leading or participating in content strategy development
Experience leading and supervising a team and collaborating across multiple teams
Extensive knowledge of television and radio production; administrative, budgeting, and long-range planning; digital media technology; news and public affairs productions; and experience working with community organization and outreach partnerships
Experience developing, leading, and executing strategic content initiatives; and experience interacting with community leaders to create partnerships with national partners
