Description
The Senior Director of Operations will lead and oversee the operational functions of the Grand Rapids Housing Commission to ensure efficiency, scalability and alignment with strategic goals. This role is pivotal in driving process improvements, managing cross-functional teams and optimizing resource allocation to support business growth. The Senior Director will collaborate closely with executive leadership to develop and implement operational strategies that enhance productivity and customer satisfaction. The Senior Director of Operations will be responsible for monitoring key performance indicators, identifying risks and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Ultimately, this position will create a high-performing operational environment that supports the Grand Rapids Housing Commission's long-term success and competitive advantage.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, Management, or a closely related field required.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Public Administration (MPA), Accounting, or a related discipline preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible management and administrative experience within public housing, a governmental entity, or a quasi-governmental agency.
- Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory and leadership experience in one or more of the following environments:Public housing or affordable housing organizations. Governmental or quasi-governmental agencies.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid Michigan driver’s license required and ability to maintain insurability under the Commission’s vehicle insurance policy.
- Public Housing Manager (PHM), Housing Choice Voucher (HCV), or other HUD-related certifications preferred.
- Certified Public Housing Manager (CPHM), Certified Housing Manager (CHM), or similar industry-recognized credentials preferred.
- Ability to obtain HUD or industry-required certifications within a specified timeframe as a condition of continued employment.
