Campus Veterinary Clinic is a long-standing general practice hospital with deep ties to the community, located in beautiful Berkeley, California. Our goal is to provide compassionate and quality medicine while striving to make an impact in our community and treat our patients/clients like family.
Who We're Looking For:
We are currently looking to hire either full-time or part-time Veterinary Assistants to join our team! The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves pets and being part of a fun, supportive team. They will have experience rooming patients, surgical assisting experience and knowledge of equipment used, drawing blood and running bloodwork, knowledge of x-rays and proper positioning, experience with proper animal handling and restraint, understanding the importance of client education, and being a positive and motivating team member.
Campus Veterinary Clinic aims to provide owners with sound, honest choices for their pets and to provide our patients with excellent and compassionate medical care. We strive to give our customers the best-personalized service possible and to create a friendly, professional work environment for our awesome staff!
- The hourly pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00, this varies depending on experience, education, certifications, and location.
Who You Are:
- 3+ years clinical experience as a veterinary assistant or receptionist
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Passion for working with animals and their owners
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
- Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
- Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories
- Perform basic exam procedures
- Skilled in venipuncture (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
- Able to perform digital radiology (X-ray) including positioning
- Comfortable with monitoring general anesthesia and surgical assistance preferred
- Laboratory skills including microscope (ear and fecal cytology); IDEXX in-house laboratory
- Excellent client communication/education
- Adaptable to working well with current doctors and team members
